My 87 Pulsar is not changing out of first gear, is this a computer fault or govener or somthing?

The valve body is not allowing the shift.  Most probably the transmission will have to be rebuilt.  Cottman has been good to me for doing diagnosis and rebuilds.  Another option is the wrecking yard for a used replacement.  Greenleaf has also been good finding me replacement parts and they have a warranty.
