Nissan Repair: back light fuse location, 2004 nissan maxima, light fuse

Question
I just spent $263 to have a back light fuse for my 2004 nissan maxima replaced.  I tested all the fuses that I could reach and non of them were defected.  Where is the location of the back light fuses?  The brake lights work but the back light as well as the back license light aren't working and I don't want to take it back to the dealer.

Thanks

Mark

Answer
Hello Mark -

First of all, have you checked the bulbs? I know this sounds redundant, but I need to ask. A lot of times one bulb goes out, and you don;t really know the difference until the other one goes.

Secondly, if not the bulb, what did the dealer do that costs so much? I would take it back, and tell them to double check their work, as your lights are still not working.

How did you check your fuses? The best way is with a light tester. Although it visually seems OK, it could still be open.

Let me know how this goes - so we can go on if the above fails
