Nissan Repair: Electrical headlights, courtesynissan, switch failure

Question
I have an 88 Nissan Pulsar and the left head light is dim. The right side is normal. when turning on the brights the light does not go bright. When i pull on the lever for passing lights it does go on high.Could this be a light swith or dimmer switch failure?

Answer
Rich,

Replace the headlight switch.  The contacts for the high and low beam are in the switch and they get old and wear out.  It just takes a phillips screwdriver.  Remove the column cover and then the switch itself.  rockauto.com or courtesynissan.com are both goood and cheap resources.  The dealer or your local parts store are more expensive...
