Nissan Repair: clutch shakes off idle, asbestos materials, flywheel

Question
Just replaced clutch and throwout bearing. When going into first from a complete stop, the truck shakes badly. Shifting is easy. If in the slightest of movement when letting off the clutch, the truck doesn't shake at all. If rpm's are raised slightly higher then normal when going into first or reverse, most of the shake goes away. Replaced the clutch because the springs were tired, but it had plenty of material left on it. Before replacement, it didn't shake at all. I didn't replace the pilot bushing.
Thanks in advance for the info.

Answer
Shaun,

If you did not have the flywheel resurfaced that could be the issue.  I say this, since the surface has been work hardened by the clutch sliding on it over the years.  It is like doing a set of brakes and having them do the same thing if the rotors were not resurfaced.  You can get away with it 9 out of 10 times.  But, with non-asbestos materials these days it is more often the case that you will get some grabbing.  You could do what you are doing with a little more RPMs and perhaps it will wear in.  Otherwise, you might need to do a resurface on the flywheel.
