Nissan Repair: 85 pulsar q, rear left blinker, left wiper, auto parts store, weird one

Hi Calvin, I recently got my alternator fixed and when I got my car back the left rear blinker was not working and neither was the left window wiper. Can you help, the mechanic was a family friend and I don't want to take it back. Thanks

Hi Danielle -

The left rear blinker is probably the bulb, have you replaced that yet? When you open the trunk, you should see access to the bulbs inside. Replace that and you should be good to go. Any auto parts store would carry that.

As for the left wiper, that is a weird one, as the wipers work in pairs. So, try this test. Grasp the left sid ewiper and try to move it along the windshield. If it move easily, then the plastic grommet came off or broke. Again, any auto store would have this, but the replacement for the grommet is a toughie. The front cowl will have to be removed, and even then access is tough. Find the link that the grommet came off from, and press the new on on the end of the link. The n you have to snap it on the other link.

I would take it back to the family friend. I am sure he will understand. I have no idea why these things went out. All unrelated to the alternator.
