Nissan Repair: Power window problem, missing teeth, shelby

Question
I have a 2003 maxima and the front passenger side power window goes down all the way ( has auto up and down), But when you roll the window up it goes to the top and then lowers about 3 inches.  The only way to get ti to stay up is to lock out the windows. What do you think it could be

Answer
Hi Shelby -

This is probably the regulator or the window belt that drives it up and down. Probably has missing teeth when the window is parked at the top. To access this, you will need to remove the door panel and the window motor as well as the lift. The belt should be visible as soon as you remove the panel, however, everything must be taken out before you can replace. I do not know how deep your expertise in trying to fix this, but i would say just take it to a competent repair shop, as this repair gets pretty tedious and detailed.

Hope this helps -
