Nissan Repair: setting timing belt tensioner properly, hi art, timing belt

I think I set the timing belt tensioner to tight..
Gripping sound. noise at slow speed...I'm going in there again, replacing everthing again, but need to know how to set how much tension...

Doesn't the tensioner have its own spring loaded idler? I have no idea what year and make your vehicle is, if you give that to me I can send you the specs for installation.

Also, was the sound there before you replaced the belt?
