I just gotten a 2000 nissn maxima with 127,000 miles. Today I was drving and I stop for the red light. And the car starting to do this fun shaken noise. I like at the rpm and it was between the 1 line and the bar before the 1 line. So, then the light turned green i drove of and the car drove normal. I stopped again for a next red light. and the car was shaken again. And I realize the rpm is below the 1 line going up an down.

The first thing I would like you to check is to look for a vaccuum leak. Open the hood and check all the vaccuum connections. Sometimes a hose gets disconnected, or develops a hole because of the heat. Another way to find it is to take carb cleaner, or starting fluid and spray it in various areas around the engine (do not spray too much). When you spray an area and the idle improves, then you have found the vicinity where the vaccuum leak is.

When you pick up speed, or go up a hill, is the engine runnning OK then, or is is missing, or skipping?
