Nissan Repair: Turn signals, turn signal switch, competent mechanic

Question
Hello I just purchased a 1987 Nissan Pathfinder and my turn signals do not work PLZ HELP!!!

Answer
Hi Yvette -

The first and easiest thing to check is the fuse for the turn signals. It is under the dash on the driver's side. Look for the fuse box, and then it is labeled "T/S". pull it out and if the metal strip is broken, then replace it.

Secondly, make sure the bulbs are working for the signals. If one is out, the  it will not work.

You might also want to check the flasher, however, if your hazard warning lghts are working, the flasher is fine.

Finally, check the turn signal switch. This is a difficult one and is best done by a competent mechanic, as the steering wheel has to be removed.

Hope this helps -
