Nissan Repair: 1996 nissan quest, nissan quest, lock switch

Hi I dont know how to trun off the alarm on my van.  I went to unlock the door and the alarm started.  I currently took the battery cable off.  I tried turning the key in the door lock back and fort but no luck.  Can any one help who has a similar problem.  thank you.

If you do not have a keyfob and the door lock is not working to turn off the alarm.  You will either need to get the van to a dealer to program a remote or a locksmith to do the same.  Otherwise, you could pull the door panel and see if the switch is defective or the wires have come loose from the back of the door lock switch.  Now, if you have an aftermarket alarm you could reset it with the instructions they provide with the unit.
