Nissan Repair: Hea shield on 03 sentra, muffler shop, hose clamps

I have a rusted, loose heat shield on the front manifold of my 03 sentra and it
rattles as I decelerate. Can this just be removed or must it be replaced? The
screws that held it in place appear as rusted as the shield itself, so I'm not sure
it could be reattached.

The heat shield needs to be there.  If it were me I would remove it and then drill out a few holes and reattach it where it did not rattle.  Otherwise, you could go to a wrecking yard and get one there or go to a muffler shop and have them tack it back where the rattle will stop.  I hate rattles too and I have done all three on different cars and it is just a matter of the best way to attack your problem.  I have even used hose clamps to tighten up shields to keep them from doirn the rattle thing.
