Nissan Repair: break squeaking, performance friction, autozone

Question
the front brake pad on my 95 altima wont stop squeaking after changing the rotor, pads(ceramic) and puting anti squeak gel on the back of the pads, the noise is worse in the morning when i first come-out of the garage to go work.please help.

Answer
Joe,

I personally dislike ceramic pads since they make noise and increase braking distance.  The only thing they seem to be good for is reduced dust.  I can live with the dust because I want brakes that work properly.  I use Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads from Autozone.  Or, you could get factory pads from courtesynissan.com on-line if you can wait.  I would take the pads back that you have after you replace them.  This has been my personal experience and if you do not use factory pads get the ones from Autozone.  I used to buy them on-line before Autozone started stocking them.
