Nissan Repair: Rattling and dash lights, car fuses, nissan altima

Question
First question is I hear rattling on the passenger side from tire every time I go over a bump no matter what the size..I drive a 96 Nissan Altima gle..I am not sure if it is the suspension...When I took it to a suspension specialist they could not figure out the problem..Next question is I installed a radio and my gauge light went out on my dash...All lights work except speedometer, gas, and odometer...Also the gear lights...Checked and changed all car fuses what do I check next..

Answer
Sheldon,

First, the noise is probably the strut tower bearing going out.  Not too much of a problem unless the steering gets stiff.  The second is the radio is wired incorrectly.  Nissan is strange is some of the ways they wire circuits.  One of your wires is not connected correctly on the radio and that is backfeeding ground causing your light problem.  I would buy a connector and use it for the radio to eliminate the light problem.  Rdaio stores sell them.
