Nissan Repair: 1990 NIssan d21 4X4 not getting fuel to engine after engine replacement, nissan d21, haynes repair manual

Question
I recently replaced the motor on my 1990 Nissan hardbody D21 and got everything converted and connected but know the engine is not getting any fuel.  The timing is correct and the fuel pump comes on but it is still not pushing any fuel to the engine.  In my Haynes repair manual it says not to disconnect the fuel lines without releasing the pressure but I did not read that until after I had already disconnected the lines without releasing the pressure.  In the book it doesn't say what to do if you disconnect the lines without relieving the pressure.  Could this be my problem and how can I fix this so I can get my Nissan running.  The engine is a KA24E with the multi port injection.

Answer
Justin,

If you hear the pump run and you say you are not getting fuel to the front would mean a defective pump.  Check the fuel pressure.  If you are getting pressure the computer is not activating the injectors.  First check the pressure.  If you get nothing replace the pump after checking to make sure the fuel line is not crushed.  It was not you doing anything by opening the system under pressure.  They only say that for safety reasons.
