Nissan Repair: Nissan Pathfinder 3.3 litre model 2000, obd code scanner, nissan pathfinder

The car is in Tbilisi Gorgia.Can not start. No computer to check & find the problem. Before the cat stopped the motor operated only in low rpm unstable.The following part were changed without solving the problem: spark plugs, fuel filter & air filter. They think that the commutator in the distributor is wrong this spare part is not available so they recommended to change the distributor which is also not available. Please help, the car is in the garage over two months. Many Thanks for your help

If the car is a 2000 then it should have scan ability.  First, I would check the code.  You can purchase scanners on-line for about $60 dollars U.S.  That would allow you to find the problem without spending money on unnecessary parts.  Second, if the shop took your distributor a part and replaced parts you would be ahead by getting another distributor.  rockauto.com is a good source for parts and they are much less than factory prices.  The scanner can be purchased from ebay.  http://search.ebay.com/obd-code-scanner_W0QQfnuZ1QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ3QQxpufuZx

Back to basics on the diagnostics.  Furst have them check the fuel for pressure and the ignition for spark.  Nothing too complicated on fuel injected engines just the computer management.  Fuel and spark are the same.
