Question
i bought my z in early 96 i have never had a problem with the car until 3 years ago.it has been sitting in storage because i have been spending so much money with mechanics that cant figure what is wrong with it.the car will run and idle fine drives normal until i ask for boost.the second it reaches 3k rpm when the turbos should go to work the car shuts off and wont restart until i disconnect the battery and reset the computer.whats strange is that when the car isnt in gear i can rev the rpms way past 3k.i have had the connecters changed.i have herd somwhere the connectors go bad and dont make good contact.no check engine light this is killing me that i dont know what to do.my car has always been garage kept and i dont want to be defeated and sell it

Answer
Tyronn,

Check the blow off valves.  One or both is probably defective and if they are giving an error to the ECM the car will kill itself to keep from blowing the headgaskets.  Yes, the connectors could be corroded or the insulation could be coming off.  Check the hose routing coming form the turbos and you will find the blow off valves and electrical connections.  That would be my first shot at this one.  If you need more email me back.
