Nissan Repair: 1997-1998 nissian altima, mass airflow sensor, mass airflow sensors

I could use any info on how to fix my altima It died like it was out of gass then like the alternator went not the problem the cheack ingen light is on but will go off and run fine for a while like there was a short when putt on the obd2 it said crank shaft posinion sensor  can you help maybe were is this sensor i replaced the coil not the problem some times it gets power other timez it does not ????

Crank position sensor is the sensor that tells the computer to fire the spark plugs.  If the sensor is going out and that is what the code says replace it.  It is in the front cover of the engine.  Buy the new one and you will see what you are looking for.  Another note here is the Altima has a strange problem with mass airflow sensors.  And, when you get the crank position sensor code it sometimes will be the mass airflow sensor.  So, replace the crank position sensor and if that does not do the trick be looking at the mass airflow sensor.
