my truck just stopped going into reverse it didnt slip or any thing it just stopped is this something that can be repaired or does transmission need to be changed

Hi Tim,

My 95 Pathfinder did exactly the same thing. It has the same transmission as your truck. A very common issue with Nissan trucks is that the reverse planet assembly breaks off from the sun shell hence no reverse. I wish there was something you could do short of this, but unfortunately, rebuilding the transmission is the only way to repair this. Expect to spend about $2500 to $3000 to repair this correctly. Find a good shop that will know the updates. Try Cottman because they are very good and are a little less expensive than Aamco, although, those Aamco folks are some of the best in the industry.
