Nissan Repair: eng misfire, distributer cap, nissan frontier

Question
my 2003 nissan frontier is running rough and getting terrible gas milage.  MIL code is #3 cyl misfire.  I have changed out distributer cap, wires, plugs and rotor.  No luck. If I manually push up on the bottom of the EGR valve the motor starts to stall out.  Unplugged the air charge temp sensor and the motor runs great. Replaced temp sensor but it did not fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Will running the truck with temp sensor unplugged hurt anything?

Answer
Hi Richard,

I misunderstand. You state that the engine runs great. Problem solved!?!? Do you mean after replacing the temp sensor it ran crappy again when you plugged it in? Was that the only code? Seems that there might be a ground problem with that sensor. Follow the wires to the plug on the pigtail. Nissan has a TSB out about faulty grounds and wiring issues in connectors. BTW, how did you decide to mess with the temp sensor from a misfire #3 code?
