Nissan Repair: changing spark plugs on 1995 altima, changing spark plugs, cracked head

Question
Hi
My son's altima recently overheated and 2 spark plugs got pushed up. We pushed them back in but the car is not firing all cylinders now. Please send instructions on how to change the spark plugs.
Thanks

Answer
Peggy,

If the sparkplugs were forced out of their holes you have some serious problems with the head due to overheating.  You must be talking of the spark plug boots that go down in the cylinder head?  If this is the case purchase a new set of wires and plugs and install them and see how the engine runs.  If a sparkplug gets too hot it will breakdown internally and allow shorting so the cylinder will not fire.  If all goes well you are fine.  But, since it overheated I would check for a blown headgasket or a cracked head too.
