Nissan Repair: 1999 Pathfinder LE 4WD Shift Indicator Light, shift indicator, indicator light

My 1999 Pathfinder LE engages and disengages into and out of 4wd with no problems.  However, the 4wd shift indicator light remains on in 2wd mode.  Is there a switch or relay which may be stuck, or am I looking at a serious repair?

Yes, there is a switch on the transfer case that is not turning off.  No big deal in my opinion.  You could disconnect the switch and see if the light goes out.  To do this get under the vehicle and unplug the switch on the transfer case, not the transmission and if the light goes out that is the switch that needs to be replaced.  It unscrews from the case.  Basically, it is a speing loaded switch.
