Nissan Repair: Temperature Guage, nissan altima, air bubbles

Question

2000 Nissan Altima
My temp guage needle rapidly fluctuates between the center of guage and cold. I just had a new radiator installed and the car does not seem to be overheating as the needle never goes past the center.

Answer
Shawn,

A couple of reasons for the temperature gauge going nuts.  First are air bubbles that will eventually go away and the second is a screwed up sensor or messed up wire at the engine that goes to the sensor.  If it were me I would drive it a couple of days and turn the heat on for a few minutes and see if the gauge returns to normal.  The second is to check the temperature sensor and wiring going to it.
