Nissan Repair: how to bleed cooling system 96 max. gxe atuo?, radiator cap, prestone

Question
Thanks you for reply. Let me explain what happen. I had changed the anti-freeze less than 2 year ago. For the past couple day. When I drove above 80 mph, the needle start to rise and point at right below the "H" white mark(11:00). I get off the exit right away, the temperature start to drop back down(9:15) to a little above normal position.(9:00) Local traffic and driving around 70 mph never have any problem.Btw, both case are with a/c on all the time.
After read your e-mail, I bleeded it this morning and there were a few very tinny bubbles. So I drive to work, same overheating again! What should I check next?

Thanks you again.

where is the bleeding screw location? Or do i need to put the car on ramp? someone told me some old nissan don't have one.

Thanks,

Answer -
Kin,

A 96 does not have an air bleed screw that I am aware of.  I would put the car on a set of ramps to burp the air from the system.

Answer
Kin,

Go down to Nissan and purchase a new thermostat and radiator cap.  Change these and see how the car does.  I bet the thermostat and cap are old and between the two you are not getting the cooling your car needs.  Use a good antifreeze like a 50/50 mix of Prestone and distilled water.  Do not backflush the engine as you will blow the heater core.  Just drain and fill after you change the thermostat and cap.  You should be fine and if you have any problems email me back.
