Nissan Repair: 1997 Nissan Sentra, nissan sentra, timing pointer

Question
Car will not start. Timeing, fuel and spark are ok, getting spark, fuel to piston. Checked computer no codes are stored.Problem started with draging starter, which I replaced.New bat. & pluges.Moter turns does not backfire.

Answer
Check to make sure that the cam has not jumped timing.  Run the engine over to top dead center and check the timing pointer and then check the inspection point at the top of the cover to see that the static timing is correct.  Also, check inside the distributor if the static timing is correct for oil.  I had one where oil had entered the distributor through the seal and it was interfering with the optical sensor that determines when the coils fire and the injectors pulse.
