Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: electric windows, auto paint and body, dri lube

Question
I have a 1998 pontiac transport and the windows are going up and down very slowly i mean 30 seconds for it to go back up or down.  The van has been stored in a garage for 2 years and just recently I have taken it out and started driving it again.  there are no clicks or noises coming from either electric regulator.  New battery, and volt reading is ok.  any suggestions?

Answer
Hi
I would first rule out the rubber window channels by purchasing "Dri Slide" or "Dri Lube", which is a silicone based lubricant made specially for rubber surfaces (run channels, weatherstrips, etc....)
Make sure you get the one for rubber...they make some for metal surfaces also.
If lubing the run channels does not help, it is very possible the motors themselves are getting too hot internally.
This would require replacement of the window motor(s).
I hope this helps

PS You'll probabally find the correct dri slide at an auto paint and body supply outlet.
