Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 350 and 400 gm trans., shaft extension, tail shaft

What is the main differences between the turbo 350 and the 400 trans.? I put a 6.6L in a 1979 firebird and the 400 trans. I need to find a drive shaft and I didnt know if a drive shaft from a 350 trans had the same input yolk for the drive shaft.

hi john, well the only diff is the 400 has a longer tail shaft extension because it has a longer mainshaft .since it is a much heavier trans.yes the yoke is exactly the same you can have your shaft cut down to fit.it will be worth your trouble ..please take a sec to rate my service very important to me ty billymac
