I have a 79 olds dalta 88 royale, The engine turns over but won't start. I have replace the fuel pump but no change in conditions. all my fueses are good. what could this problem be thats keeping my car from firing up.It has a 2barrel carberator, 4.9l and it's a v8 please help. Thanks

Answer
Hello Joseph,
There is a filter inside the fitting where the fuel line connects to the carb. Check that.
Then make sure the choke is closing.
Next, see if the accelerator pump is squirting fuel into the throats.
I assume you made sure the fuel pump was supplying fuel? A leak in the hose on the suction side of the fuel pump will keep it from being able to supply fuel.
And finally, I am assuming that you made sure it is a fuel problem, and not a lack of spark issue?
