Plymouth Repair: 01 Neon Head Gasket, neon head gasket, head gasket problem

Question
Hello,  I have a 2001 Plymouth Neon, 64k miles, and I just found out that my head gasket is leaking externally... I am trying to decide wether or not to sell it and let someone else deal with it or if it will be too much money to fix the head gasket (known as "major engine work" - those are scary words).  I can't really benefit myself from selling/trading it because I still owe $6,300 on it and trade in value is about $4,000, so if I wanted to trade it in, I could only afford to get a car in the price range of $2,000-$3,000 and that would definately be a STEP DOWN in cars... and I love my Neon... please let me know what you think about this head gasket problem... Thank You!  -Kim-

I know what u are saying is true . neons were known for head gaskets . I can not before sure do not have my books they are in my shop thire could be a recall by dodge for the head gasket i would check it out with the dealer and they can let you know . and if that is the case it would be no charge to u .
