Pontiac Repair: crank sensor

Question
i have a 1999 pontiac grand am with a 2.4l motor in it and i would like to know where the crank shaft sensor is . I am not sure if it is by the starter or in the front of the motor.

hi Willaim:
yes it's near the starter just to the side of the oil filter. it has a connector on it with 2 wires.  be careful taking it out twist it round back and forth before you try to pull it out. they get stuck in the block and you don't want it to snap off in the engine!
