Pontiac Repair: no heat in a 1992 grand prix, radiator hoses, warm heat

Question
there is no heat sometimes then there is little warm heat. The upper and lower radiator hoses are hot .The heater hoses on oneside is hot the other side is warm could I have a plugged or restricted hose?

Answer
Hi Melvin:

You could have a restricted heater core. once the engine is hot the inlet hose should be HOT and the out let should be pretty warm not cool. if so there is a restriction in the core. you can take the hoses off the core and use a garden hose and flush the core forward and backwards. make sure the system is topped off with coolant too you could have an air pockey in the core and that will cause the same type of issue as well.
