Pontiac Repair: GTP supercharger, sping, belt tensioner

Question
I believe I have a rattling supercharger. When I took the supercharger belt off the rattle is still there. Does it still turn when the belts off? The pulley isn't turning. Or would the rattle be from somewhere else?
Its a 2002 GTP supercharged L67 3800 series 2.

Answer
Hi Jamie:

It's more then likely an idler pulley or the belt tensioner for the main drive belt. If it's a tinney sound does it start and stop when the A/C cycles on and off? if of then it's the clutch on the front of the A?C compressor. Oh and no the Super charger doesn't sping when the belt is off it. Good luck :)
