Pontiac Repair: 2004 pontiac grand am, driver side airbag, clock spring

Question
Okay, I have a 2004 Pontiac grand am, was hit in front and both airbags deployed, I repaired front end, repainted, installed used air bags and airbag control module. took it to a dealer to reset airbag light. they reprogrammed computer but the driver side airbag still shows low risistance, and will not let the light be turned off. Did I miss doing something?? any sugestions for me to try? I took out the driverside airbag again and made sure it was hooked up right

Answer
Hi Daryl:

without seeing it It's hard to say and without knowing what code is set again it's hard to say what the issue is here but a few things come to mind. Either bad "used" parts The wrong used parts or a bad clock spring in the steering solumn "sir coil" the parts may appear to be correct but they may be a different part # then what you took out. a lot of times they look the same but there are subtle differences to the magic inside the electronic parts. They may have been out of a different year car or some times there is a first and second design in the same model year and the parts do not work. Just guessing here... Good luck :)
