Pontiac Repair: interior lighting, pontiac grand prix, trip calculator

I have a '00 Pontiac grand prix gtp, the display on the top center dash, where the boost gauge, and oil life monitor are located is not lit. You can see it faintly when sun light shines in. Could you assist me in finding out what the problem might be?

Hey Robert:

how about the radio display and the Hvac diaplay if it has auto a/c? If those light up normally then I would have to say the issue is with the "DIC" dricer info center or it is also called a trip calculator. as long as the unit has full battery ignition voltage and ground going to it it should work if not the unit is bad. My guess is it's the unit. Good luck :)
