QUESTION: I Changed my battery and cables and all my dash board lites
are on I have a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire how do i get them to
go out

Which light do you mean? the back lighting for the headlamps or the warning lights? If it's warning lights with ones are on or all of them?

Hi David:

Well there are a few things this could be. The cluster it's self many have gon bad with a power spike and that's why the lamps are on. There could be a data line communication issue inside the car that is making the lamps go on or you could have some sort of a bad connection causing this issue. Check the ground wire connections at the battery and on and under the battery tray. With out the aid of a scan tool It's hard to tell you what's going on here. With a scan tool you can see what if any codes are stored in the various modules in the car. did the battery die on this or did you have to jump start the car? I assume none of these lighst were in prior to the battery issue?
