Pontiac Repair: car stereo replacement, sony xplod, pontiac sunbird

i recently installed a brand new Sony Xplod CDX-GT621PW car cd reciever with direct ipod connection into my 1994 2.0L Pontiac Sunbird when i plugged the wiring harness into the stereo it made a pop or click noise and wont turn on even after i pressed the reset button why wont it turn on?

Well other the possably blowing a fuse which may have been your pop noise I really can't help you out. I have no idea what type of hook up an aftermarket radio has fir that car. I would just double check all your connections and make sure you power feeds and ground feed are hooked up to the correct wires on the radio. Make sure the radio and Ctsy fuses are not blown. If they are still good eithere it's hooked up wrong or the new radio is bad.
