Pontiac Repair: 1995rand prix, computer wire, bolt pattern

my question isn't,can i replace my bad 3.4 v6 with a 3100.if so what do i need from the 3100 car and what models will work.

Hi rich:

a 3100 or a 3400 engine should work in this the bolt pattern for the block is the same 3100/3400 and you 3.4 liter I belive. TYhe issue is with the electronics. the computer/wire harness and all the engine mounts and plumbing for the engine are differnt. you need a complet doaner car to take all the parts off preferably from the same year car and then it would have to be a 3100 engine. This is a BIG undertaking. good luck:)
