Pontiac Repair: low oil pressure, low oil pressure, pontiac firebird

I have a 1996 pontiac firebird 3.8 5 speed. Ive changed oil cending unit. oil pressure relief valve. but still i have low oil pressure. 30 pounds running down the road and at a warm idle none. Any Ideas?

Are you just going off the gauge on the dash board or have you had it verified with a mechanical gauge? If with a mechanical gauge the pressure is still low I would suspect internal engine wear that is causing low pressure. On those older 3800 engnes they would have bearing clearance problems. On that engine back in the day they had cam bearinf that would go bad and they would loose oil pressure and eventaully the lack of pressure caused all kids of engine wear...
