Pontiac Repair: 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT, pontiac grand am, factory security

Question
I have a pontiac grand am gt with the high output motor in it. Recently i have turned the key over and it will just click, the security light will come on and it will ding but it wont even try to start. Any suggestions? I have been trying to get it to start all day and it still wont. Thanks in advance

did you try to jump start the car? It sould like either a weak/dead battery or a factory security system failure. Try jump starting the car if that doesn't work and the security lamp is on flashing leave the key in the run position untill the security lamp stops flashing then turn the key off and then try to start it again. If it starts then and runs the problem is with the security system and the car needs to have that fixed it it still just clicks and will not start the starter motor is more than likely bad. good luck :)
