Pontiac Repair: 97 bonneville, crank shaft position sensor, fuel pressure regulator

Question
i just bought a bonneville and several times already it has died. the engine beeps 3 times and then dies, and the oil pressuse drops to zero. we got the engine serviced yesterday and it did it again today....any ideas?

Answer
Hey  Jazi.

Well it could be a whole slew of things.. The beeping is the chime to let you know the engine had stopped running and that one or more of the gauges is in the warning area well yes because the engine stopped running. So the chime is not the problem. First off does it start right back up? when it does does it spit and sputter before it shuts off? It could be a fuel pump that's going bad, it could be a crank shaft position sensor going bad to it could be a fuel pressure regulator that's leaking gas into  the vacuum hose and making the car run overly rich and then stalling.. First thing you need to do it take it to a place and see if any trouble codes have set in the engine computer and go from there. On this car there  are way to many variables for a stall condition. Sorry I can't be of much more help. But I mentioned the 3 most common issues for that year and model. Good luck :)
