Porsche Repair: Porsche 914 no spark., porsche 914, luck dave

I have owned a 72 914 1.7 for 3 years now. Never any problms but I went to start it this spring and It will crank but no spark. Can you give me an order of things to look for?

Hi Jerry,

I don't think sitting for the winter would be a reason for the no spark...so the problem may have been developing before and now has shown itself.  Typically, any no spark situation for th 914 will be faulty points, faulty condenser, or bad coil, in that order.  All of this presumes the connections to and from are perfect: clean, secure and vibration free.
