RV Repair: Floor replacement Forest River B+ 2007, particle board flooring, water infiltration

Question
Water infiltration at the rear slide out damaged (soft/swallowed)the particle board flooring approximately 3x4 feet.Plan to repair myself but wondering if framing under boards is wood or steel and since part of the damage extends from bedroom and under the bathroom wall... if it would be safe to raise that wall somehow to insert the new sheet of plywood. Thanks Jean.

Answer
Yes this repair can be done by you, rather easily.  The floor is steel.  Do not raise the wall.  Either cut the floor at the wall or cut a section of the wall out.  Just enough to repair the damage.  Then repair this area of the wall. Remember, the floor covering will hide any imperfections, especially a rug.

If you decide to cut the floor close to the wall , use a saws all.  the area you leave under the wall will dry.  IF you cut the wall out, make it a square cut just wide enough to fit the damaged area.  Only cut a couple of inches high and use base molding to hide the cut out.
