RV Repair: repair/replace the top of pop up camper, truck bedliners, carpenter father

Question
The "skin" on the top of my pop up camper has several holes and cracks in it.  The material is very thin and makes it difficult to try and patch.

Is it possible to buy and install a new top layer on the camper.  I don't know if it's final or something similar but I believe I can do the job (with my carpenter father's help) if I can buy the material.

Any thoughts?

Answer
is this skin fiberglas or aluminum?  If aluminum, you can try a sealant.  They sell a rhino liner type material for truck bedliners at Home Depot.  You can apply that and it would not only seal the cracks, but it would create a very durable surface.  Once applied, you can paint it any color you want.

To replace the material, it would be hard to find.  Then the old stuff is glued on and hard to remove.  It would be much work and probably would look like a 'homemade' job.

Fiberglas is a different story.  If you have this, I would try resurfacing with a gelcoat from a boat store.  This is a big job.  Spread it on like a bondo, let it dry, then sand it and buff it to shine.  You can use it in 'areas' as needed too.  The colors may not match perfect if you do that.  You can try a camper store for this repair material too.  Boats are made to be durable and near water.  This is why I suggest gelcoat.
