RV Repair: norcold frig #1200lrim, double letters, led readout

Question
How do you reset this refrig? When I turn it on the display shows a trouble code but only half the letters or numbers display so I can't read the code. This happens in LP or 110V.A local shop said it needs to be reset.

Mike, To do a reset you will need to pull the back cover off the power board and then hook the wires back up. Then locate a purple and white wire, in the upper left corner of the 16 pin connector. Next to this is an open pin and to reset the refer you will have to have someone turn it on and using a wire stuck in that pin and connected to ground wait for about 15 to 30 seconds and you will hear it reset. Then remove the wires again and replace the cover. I have never seen one do this exactly because of a reset being needed. They will usually still have all the led lights lit. A reset is for when the board goes into lockout after so many faults happen at the board. There is a diagnostic mode you can put the refer into to see what happened. I would need to know the specific model and what the led readouts look like. That is to say is it a single led readout or does it have double letters. My guess is that you will need at least the eyebrow replaced, but don't do that until you have tested to make sure. Let me know what you want to do and I will guide you through it. Thanks, Bill
