RV Repair: Norcold Model 682, resistor, eyebrow

Question
When I try to operate my refrigerator on gas, the igniter produces a spark and the burner lights.  The burner stays on for about 5-10 seconds and goes out.  I can turn it off and back on at the eyebrow switch and it does the same thing again.  I will not stay lit.  I don't see a thermal couple to detect that the burner is working.  I don't see anything to maintain the supply of gas to the burner.  How is the gas supply maintained.   Thanks,  Al  Freeman

Answer
Al, On these refers the igniter is used to tell the board that the flame is lit. Chances are that with this doing what it is either the power board or if it has 2 boards on the back side it will be the upper board. That will be the igniter board. It is telling me that the control part is working it just will not sense the flame. There are so many models out there and I am not exactly sure what the one you have is for sure. The best way to check is to look at the back and see if there is 2 boards there. One will be on top of the other. If this has only 1 board in back and is about 10 inches long by about 4 inches tall with a black cover then you will need to replace the main power board and they are pretty costly. If it is the igniter board I recommend using a Dinosaur igniter board and get a cover for it as well. They sell these as well. You will need to read the instructions as you will need to cut a resistor to make it work proper, but they have a 3 year warranty and the manufacture boards only come with a 1 year warranty.
