RV Repair: Fridge, volt power source, automatic pilot

I have a 95 Starcraft that the previous owner put a new fridge in. It was replaced in 2001. I have a hard time believing that this one has gone bad. It will not work with gas either. It is an automatic pilot and I do not hear it trying to light. Could it be something simple?

   Does the cooling unit get hot when you run it on either power source?  Have you noticed any yellow residue around the burner or smelled ammonia?  If the 120 volt heating element is good you can try hooking it up directly to a 120 volt power source and run it for 12-24 hours to determine if the cooling unit is working or not.  Make sure that it is level when you are running it.  I hope this helps.
