Answer
Hi Beth
LP in a liquid form is minus 44 degrees F. and has to be warmed to turn into a gas. When too much fuel flows thru a LPG regulator, it can freeze up due to moisture in the propane its a condition called "refrigeration". Thats where the reg. gets covered in ice and slows down the "boil" of the liquid propane into a gas. Propane company's can insert isopropyl alcohol into the tank to act as a method of removing the water and reduces the chance of Freeze up..
Water mixes with the alcohol and removes it with the gas to be burned. Make sure you have a two stage regulator not single stage.

Good luck ...be safe.
