Question
I get a strong gas smell from exhaust vents when furnace shuts off. Is this normal?

  Hi Jeff, How old is it? May have a hole in burner chamber. If that is the case, you need to replace it.
  If it is new, they burn off a oil applied at the manufacture plant to keep it from rusting on the shelf. The smell should go away after 3 or 4 uses. Good Luck
