RV Repair: wiring RV battery to generator and camper, amp plug, rv battery

Question
I have a coachman TT with an onan 2.8KW tounge mounted generator. The trailer and the generator both have a 50 Amp flat 2 connector, same gender. There is only 1 12 volt battery with NO wires or plugs.  Please advise me on the correct way to wire the trailer and generator.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Ed. I'm a little confused as to the 50 amp plugs you have. I would make a cord with one end to plug to your Gen. The other side I would install and 4"x4" waterproof box with the 30 amp trailer shore plug. Are you sure the TT has a 50 amp plug?? Most are 30 amp. Heres how to tell... 3 prongs is 30 amp. 4 prongs is a 50 amp. 2.8 is not a 50 amp Gen. If Gen. is an electric start... just wire the 12 volt Pos. and Neg. Good Luck.
