RV Repair: Stove pilot will not light, keystone sprinter, stove pilot

I have a 2005 Keystone Sprinter Camper. I am having trouble lighting the pilot light for the stove. I have got it to light a couple of times, but it takes forever holding a lighter to the port for the pilot. It is a magic chef stove and I am not sure of the model number as the camper is a seasonal and a couple of hours away. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciatied.

Hi Steve. Thanks for your question. How long is to long? 3 to 5 minuets is normal. If it takes longer than that, you may have a bad LP regulator or a bad stove regulator. I have also have seen LP sludge inside LP lines that cause problems. The sludge is oil, excessive sealant, and other contaminates that plug lines. If this is your problem. You have to have the LP system fixed by a certified Technician.
