RV Repair: Norcold 3 way fridge, flame detection, flame sensor

Question
Hi Garry
I have a norcold model #3n640 fridge/freezer when i turn it on it starts to light but the pilot won't stay lit for more than 2 seconds it sparks fine and it seems to take a long time for the gas to get to the pilot.  It makes a clicking noise on on/off valve where a sensor sits.  Is there anything a dummy like me can do to fix this or is it service time?
Thanks
James

Answer
What you are experiencing is the Flame sensor or thermocouple is not detecting a flame, so it shuts down the gas system as a safety device.

The position of that in the flame is critical, and if it is in the flame, and still having the same problem, you may need to remove it, clean and reinstall, or reinstall a new one.

If the flame detection device is electonic on your unit, the  control board may be defective.
